It is with a combined feeling of joy, excitement, relief and emptiness that An Odd Story now is printed and delivered. I am actually holding the book in my hands. Tomorrow I will deliver it to Daniel and Peter. The feelings of joy and excitement should be self-explanatory. So also the feeling of relief. The emptiness may however need a brief explanation.
I have been living and breathing this book for the last 18 months. The enormous amount of time that I have spent in front of the MacBook I am currently writing this post on. I have had the benefit of spending to me precious time with Daniel and Peter. At the brewery, at the restaurants, back stage, on stage, at home, on the tour bus and so on. This has over time become part of my everyday life. What now when the book is done? How do one just turn one’s brain into idle mode? Nevertheless, I am extremely proud of the book and I cannot wait to hear your reviews.
The last phase of the book making process is putting the book together. Making it become an actual book. To that end you need a good book designer and a good photographer. And I have the best I could have ever wished for. Tobias Green who is the book designer AND the illustrator has done nothing but pure magic on An Odd Story. The book would not be half of what it is without him. The way Tobias works with the magical photos of my photographer Johan Lilja could not easily be replicated. You will understand what I mean when you hold the book in your hands.
An Odd Story will soon be available both on this site and on your book store of choice (at least in Sweden). If you have the opportunity, come by Restaurant 2112 and MG5 in Gothenburg on November 11 and say “Hi!”.
I final word of advice, pursue your dreams no matter how crazy they may seem. I have.
